The pictures were supplied by a Caterham enthusiast and should help you identify the heater and the model it is used on. This particular heater matrix was a generic unit used on several different car models, the most common of which is the Mini. This easy availability is probably why Caterham chose it in the first place. This all copper and brass version was originally developed as a better quality replacement for the Mini but we have since been told that it is ideal for the Caterham. We have been told that it is a very ‘snug’ fit but any alterations to get it into the box are minimal and can not be seen once the box is replaced (you can see this from the pictures).The original heater was never the strongest and there are a lot of very poor quality imported versions of this heater on the market, but we are sure you will want the best for your 7.

The original heater was one of the first heaters to be made from plastic and aluminium on a large scale and usually needed replacing fairly regularly. Our UK heater matrix manufacturer, along with Mini enthusiasts and Mini clubs developed a heater matrix which was a more robust, all metal direct replacement. We can now offer Caterham customers this copper and brass aftermarket heater matrix which has been made in the UK to the highest standards for over 20 years.
