Description
A Top Quality Heater matrix to fit the Mini Cooper 2001 to 2006 R50
Heater matrix blocked and giving out no heat?
Then you need to read this before you buy a new one.
The original heater for your vehicle was made from aluminium with very narrow water tubes, as you can see in the listing picture above. Â Original equipment and cheap, poor quality imported replacements all use this design which blocks up very quickly, easily leaving you with no heat.
Our tried and tested copper and brass design has wider water tubes which allow any small particles to flow freely and not block the heater.
Fitting a replacement heater matrix is a very costly labour-intensive job so it makes sense to fit one that won’t block up again.
There will always be someone who says that they can ”do it cheaper” – but at what cost?
Buy cheap – Buy twice!
This is a copper and brass aftermarket heater matrix made to the highest standards in the UK. The original heater is made from aluminium, but this copper and brass version is considered to be more robust, is a direct replacement in the box and has no loss in performance. You can click on the image to enlarge it or move your cursor over a specific area to look more closely at a particular feature on the heater core. The dimensions given below are at the longest, widest and deepest points of the heater and not the centre core measurements. If you are not sure whether this is the heater you require please contact us and we will help.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Some internet retailers are selling a slightly cheaper imported aluminium version of this heater. The internal water tubes in these alloy heaters are very narrow and easily prone to blockage, the overall build quality and materials used are not a high standard and they can fail due to the aluminium being ‘eaten’ by electrolysis. The copper and brass units have wider tubes which do not block up and we have not had any failures due to electrolysis. We try very hard to keep the prices of our superior top quality copper and brass heaters as low as possible because you will need to consider the quality of the heater you use. Changing the heater matrix is a labour intensive and potentially expensive job so if you choose to opt for one of the cheaper imported heaters, please make a note of our eBay shop in case you need buy a better one sooner than expected
The original pipes are fitted onto the unit using clamps and seals which are supplied.
